(Please read this message in its entirety.)

I am currently working on a project with Dreamstreet Studios to engage the homeless situation in America. During the course of 2012 there will be in excess of 3.5 million individuals that will experience the hopeless sting of homelessness. A vast majority of this number represents those that are considered perpetually homeless (without a place of residence for longer than 4-6 weeks).

The truth is that the plight of the homeless moves under the radar of the average American citizen and then there are those that contribute in some way periodically. Dreamstreet Studios, the brainchild of screenwriter, actor, and producer Donn Kizzee along with director and producer Gary Griffin has committed to engaging the issue of homelessness in America head on.

I have been brought in to assist Dreamstreet in this endeavor and I am personally asking you to assist me. I have included a link in this message to a site designed to gain financial support for this monumental endeavor. I am asking that you would help me promote this link by sharing with your Facebook and Twitter friends and fans as well as any other medium you may have at your disposal.

Of Course I am asking that you contribute as well, it will definitely be appreciated.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly 972-365-3416.

Here is the link to promote and support this great endeavor:

Listening Hard for God

"Where there is no vision, the people perish" (Prov. 19 :18).

Waiting upon God is necessary in order to see Him, to have a vision of Him. The time element in vision is essential. Our hearts are like a sensitive photographer's plate; and in order to have God revealed there, we must sit at His feet a long time. The troubled surface of a lake will not reflect an object.

Our lives must be quiet and restful if we would see God. There is power in the sight of some things to affect one's life. A quiet sunset will bring peace to a troubled heart. Thus the vision of God always transforms human life.

Jacob saw God at Jabbok's ford, and became Israel. The vision of God transformed Gideon from a coward into a valiant soldier. The vision of Christ changed Thomas from a doubting follower into a loyal, devout disciple.

But men have had visions of God since Bible times. William Carey saw God, and left his shoemaker's bench and went to India. David Livingstone saw God, and left all to follow Him through the jungles of dark Africa. Scores and hundreds have had visions of God, and are today in the uttermost parts of the earth working for the speedy evangelization of the heathen.

There is hardly ever a complete silence in the soul. God is whispering to us well-nigh incessantly. Whenever the sounds of the world die out in the soul, or sink low, then we hear the whisperings of God. He is always whispering to us, only we do not hear, because of the noise, hurry, and distraction which life causes as it rushes on.

Daily Scriptural Truth –
March 20, 2012

The Kenosis of Christ

Philippians 2:7 - but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. (NASB)

What does “emptied Himself” mean? The original manuscript is in Greek and the term Greek word “κενόω, kenoō”
(ken-o'-o)
From G2756; to make empty, that is, (figuratively) to abase, neutralize, falsify: - make (of none effect, of no reputation, void), be in vain.
Strong's Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries G2758

This same word is translated “make void” (Rom. 4:14; 1 Cor. 9:3); make of no effect (1 Cor. 1:17); be in vain (2 Cor. 9:3); and make of no reputation or emptied Himself (Phil. 2:7).

The question becomes: Of what did Christ empty Himself?

It could not have been his divine nature, for He was God not only from all eternity (Mic. 5:1-2; Jn. 1:1-2; Heb. 1:8; Rev. 1:8-11), but God manifest in flesh during His life on earth (Isa. 7:14; 9:6-7; Matt. 1:18-25; Jn. 1:1-2, 14; 1 Tim. 3:16)

Christ Emptied Himself of:

1. Equality with God (Phil. 2:6-7; Jn. 14:8; 1 Cor. 11:3)

2. God-form or God-body, the spirit body that he lived in from eternity, to take human form (Phil. 2:6-8;3:21; Mt. 1:18-25; Lk. 1:35;Jn 1:14; Lk. 24:37-40; Zech. 13:6; Gal. 4:4; Rom.8:3)

3. Immortality of body (1 Cor. 15:3; Ps. 16:10; 1 Pet. 2:5-11)

4. The glory that He had with the Father before the world was (Jn. 12:23; 17:5; Mt. 16:27; Phil. 2:5-11)

5. His authority in heaven and in earth, which was given back to him after the resurrection (Mt. 28:18; Phil. 2:9-11; Eph. 1:20-23; 1 Pet. 3:22)

6. His divine attributes and outward power that He had with the Father from eternity. He had no power to perform miracles until He received the Holy Spirit in all fullness (Jn. 2:11; 3:34; Isa. 11:1-2; 42:1-7; 61:1-2; Lk. 3:21-22; 4:16-21; Mt. 12:28; Acts 10:38). He could do nothing of Himself in His earthly life. He attributed all His works, doctrines, powers, etc. To the Father through the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

In doing this Christ set the example for us to follow. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we have the power to live this Christian life in power and victory.

Tune in tomorrow for the next scriptural truth.

God Bless,
Bishop Rick Wallace
